Precautions for Using Laboratory Ultrapure Water Systems in Summer
Temperatures have been steadily climbing recently, making the weather increasingly hot. How does such weather affect the use of pure water machines? Water Treatment reminds you: Taking protective measures can more effectively prevent malfunctions. So, what are the protective measures for pure water machines in summer?
Summer Precautions for Laboratory Ultrapure Water Systems
1. All laboratory ultrapure water system components must be shielded from direct sunlight.
In recent years, summer temperatures have soared, reaching up to 40°C in some regions. Most components within laboratory ultrapure water systems are made of food-grade materials, which have limited heat resistance. Prolonged exposure to sunlight can lead to issues like bacterial growth within the piping. During installation, ensure components are positioned away from direct sunlight.
2. Install the system in an air-conditioned room
High temperatures can alter certain elements in the water. Consumables like polishing resin inside the system may have their lifespan reduced under heat. Components are also prone to aging in high temperatures, potentially causing malfunctions that prevent normal operation.
3. Immediately shut off the inlet ball valve and power supply after use.
Once the inlet ball valve and power are connected, the laboratory pure water system begins operation. Although water intake stops after the tank is full, the internal power and water circulation continue running. Prolonged operation under these conditions significantly impacts the machine's lifespan. When not in use, users are advised to close the inlet ball valve and disconnect the power supply, which greatly benefits future operation.
4. If the machine remains unused for extended periods, power it on every 2-3 days if possible and drain for 3-5 minutes.
Due to higher summer temperatures and increased rainfall in some regions, humid air can promote bacterial growth. The internal piping of the water purifier may be affected during summer. Therefore, if conditions permit, power the machine on every 2-3 days when not in use and drain for 3-5 minutes. This practice allows for periodic flushing of the system, preventing bacterial proliferation and improving water quality.
5. Regularly replace the pre-treatment filter cartridges in the machine's pre-treatment system.
These cartridges effectively remove particulate impurities from the filtered liquid. Over time, their water flow rate decreases, and they become prone to bacterial growth. Regular replacement of pre-treatment filter consumables not only improves water quality but also extends the machine's service life.
